Mobile phone tracking is a lot more complicated than it used to be. Tracking a phone with a GPS is becoming more and more complex, as is tracking a phone with a Wi-Fi connection. And even if you have the location of a phone, you usually have no idea what the person who owns that phone is doing with their device. I've read all these tricks on https://www.familyorbit.com/blog/trace-mobile-number-current-location-online/. There you will find a lot of advice and also free apps to use for tracking a phone. I use the apps from there to trace the location of my kid.
