how do you discover the bandwidth of the network?

Aug 14 2007 10:56 AM

Hi all,

I was told a classic way is to send 1M data to the neighbor, and wait for the answer. By that the bandwidth can be calculated by data/time or something.

I am wondering if there is a better way to do that? Sending 1M data is a too much for some devices like cell phone, and some costy network.

Thanks,
