How to char* of C to C# Dllmport

Yes Sir,

There is a function of C which returns a string and the function is inside a DLL and I want to use that DLL with C#. Simple.... so do I have to use PInvoke or COM or etc....

Do DllImport and dllexport functions alone will not fulfill my necessity......?

If they alone are OK then what would be the code...?

I assume that you want to use the DLL which is written in C inside the C# code. In this case, you have to use COM Interop. Please advise if my understanding is incorrect. Many thanks.
