how to updated data from one table to anohter

i have two table i want to update data from one table to anther

1 table columns like name,country,DATES

2 table name, country and DATE

I want to update the DATE column in second table.

on the basis of the DATES column in first table

first Table has many data but i want to update the date which is latest or max in DATE column of first table.

I hope you guys understood my problem.

You can check this query find last date on table 2 and based that you can update table 1
UPDATE tr1
SET tr1.name = 'Abc'
FROM tr1 T1, tr2 T2
WHERE T1.dates = T2.dates
and T1.dates = (select max(dates) from tr2)

I wont be able to choose id this is corect way but data in that table gets insert regulary so i cannot use id.
Any other idea sir like max function on date
or select top 1 order by dates desc and then update

create table tr1(id int ,name varchar(50),counytry varchar(50),dates  date)
insert into tr1 values(1,'Abc','India','1-2-2018')
insert into tr1 values(2,'Ab','usa','1-2-2019')

create table tr2( id int, name varchar(50),counytry varchar(50),dates  date)
insert into tr2 values(1,'Ab','sas','1-2-2018')


--use this query

UPDATE tr1
  SET tr1.name = 'SAM'
FROM tr1 T1, tr2 T2
WHERE T1.id = T2.id
and T1.id = 1;
