if your project already created in asp.net.Convert to MVC application you can follow several thinks given below one of them as my personal experiences.

 

first, your database already created you follow database first approach.

second, all utilities and common function use the same and replace ado.net code with entity framework or you can go ahead with ado.net also.

all asp.cs page code put in the controller level and asp page code convert to razor view.
