Inserting check box values in SQL DB

Hi , i put a checkbox in the form now i want to save it to SQL DB when its checked, plz help with C# code and Sql as well , thanks

So does this clear everything up? Use an "if" statement to get the value of the checkbox "Checked" property (true or false). If the checkbox is checked, send send a "1" to the database. Else, send a "0". Do you have any other questions?

Oh...I see, sorry. So let me get this right. You have several checkboxes and you want to see which ones are checked. If the checkbox is checked then you want to send that to the database to keep track of the checkboxes checked? If this is right, then you could use the if statement I showed that checks if the checkbox is checked. If your database had a column for each checkbox you could then just insert a a number that corresponds to the state of the checkbox (0=unchecked, 1=checked). This is just an idea. Also, Linq to Sql can be used in any type of application, whether it is a web app/website or a windows app. I hope I didn't get this wrong again! Post back any questions and I'll try to help!

thanks for reply, I didnt find any linq . I am using Visual Web developer 2008 and i am trying to implement a feature in an open source bug tracking system, I have placed the checkbox now i want its values in SQL db to be used for report later.

Conclusion: The first thing I must now do is test to see if the checkbox is checked. So, in by button click event I add this code. My data base has two columns, ID and Customer, so I have two text boxes, one for each. if (checkBox1.Checked) { } This will test to see if the Checked property is true. Now I add my code to access the data inside the if statement // create a new data context DataClasses1DataContext myContext = new DataClasses1DataContext(); // create a new Customers object Customers customer = new Customers() { ID = textBox1.Text, Customer = textBox2.Text }; // add data to data context myContrext.Customers.InsertOnSubmit(customer); // Submit changes myContext.SubmitChanges(); That's it. I created a data context to allow my to access the data. Then created a new Customers object (created from my table) and added the data to it. Then, added the data to the data context, and submitted the changes. Please post back with any questions or errors. Sorry if this explanation was unclear, or hard to read.

Part One: First, I have created a form with two textboxes, a checkbox and a button. To use the linq to sql classes, I must first add them, so I right-click on my project in my solution explorer, and then select "Add>New Item". Then, I select "Linq to Sql Classes" and leave the default name. This opens the Object Relational Designer. Several files are also added to my project. I open up the Database Explorer (or Server Explorer) and I select my database. Then, I drag my table to the O/R Designer. This creates a visual representation of my table. That's it, now I can start coding...

thanks for reply, I am new to programming, there is a New bug adding form and I need to put a checkbox on that form and then i want to insert a value to SQL db so that i can generate a report on those who are checked. now i need help how i will get the value from form when it will be checked or unchkeced and then insert it in db , thanks Plz Note: the open source developer has used a Get & Set for another checkbox.
