.net core vs express+nodejs

Hello all, I am junior dev and I am working on Winforms and WPF for maintenance projects. I want to switch to web development, and I want to choose a backend technology to switch my career path. Although i have 1.5 experience in C#(actual work experience) and some decent knowledge in javascript and a bit of Angular(by doing side projects) , I am in a dilemma to go for asp.net core or mean stack. Please give your valuable suggestions. Please note: I currently don't have any knowledge in asp.netcore mvc and I am just thinking whether it's worth to learn thinking of the long game or to be with Javascript and play it safe.

I may probably a bit bias here but since you have experience in C# then transitioning to .NET Core /ASP.NET Core shouldn't require alot of learning curve. Aside from .NET Core being host agnostic and cross-platform, it also support various SPA frameworks such as React and Angular. In fact, .NET Core also comes with Blazor - a SPA framework for building dynamic UIs using C# and WebAssembly. That means you don't have to deal with JavaScript to build SPAs.

While that being said, it's all up to you which technology you should follow. I would always follow this rule: "Choose the path that will get you motivated and you're comfortable working/using them".
