publish on controller changes in mvc

Hi I have published my asp.net mvc application now I did change just in one controller , How can I publish only the backend and I have updated views on live server and i want to keep them as it is.

If you have only one controller then you can just update the project DLL into iis. Before doing that, we need to make sure that there is only change in the project only.

It is not recommeded to change views/html/js in iis/published files. You may can some more complications in future.

I understood the second point but not the first point as in published version we do not have controller so how I can update the controller on published version but can upload the dll of project

first, you publish the modified controller and test it took effect on the server or not because MS says that it will, but I really have never seen this.
second, if you updated any of the controllers then the dll will be yourprojectName.dll. similarly any other classlibraryproject.dll, accordingly you can select and publish.

So sachin there is a way to publish the backend only , in bin there are lot of files which one i need to publish

Although when we click on publish, only modified versions of Views/ controllers go to the server, I have experienced a lot of times the controller modification doesn't work on the server and needs to republish the whole project which is annoying and time-consuming.

the workaround is to publish the dlls only, which means when you build the project inside bin folder the newly modified dll of the project is added so you can publish that dll only.

Yes, unfortunately, views changes can directly be published but for the controller, you need to again republish the project, because they need to produce the bin folders.

If you have a code change in the controller then compulsory you need to do a publish. But if there is a only change in cshtml page then you can go directly in the server and edit it. Thanks
