Remotely access the SQL 2008 database

Happy New Year and I wish you all the best.

I have created the database in the SQL Server Management Studio. And in properties->Connections , Allow remote connections to this server is checked. I have created a connection also in the Visual Studio application. I followed all the procedure stated in http://blogs.msdn.com/b/walzenbach/archive/2010/04/14/how-to-enable-remote-connections-in-sql-server-2008.aspx. But when I tried to set the permissions for the database, I created database role public and guset. Only by setting the guest nothing changed, but when I also entered public as role and set permissions I got an error:
