Set Database password

Hi all

I am not so much expertise in sql server.

I had created an application that uses sql as its backend which connects on Windows authentication.

Now, I want to create a user id and password that should be used to access that database. And no one should have access through Windows authentication mode.

Kindly suggest.

I think my question was not clear..
The thing is:
1) I want to set user and pwd for particular database (i got the ans)
2) The database is also accessable to those users who login uaing windows authentication.
I don't want to disable windowa authentication mode, I just donot allow other user to acces them.
Hope my ques was now clear

Now I am able to login with my given credentials but when login to sql using windows authentication, my database is still accesaable.
Kindly suggest so that it can only be accessed to my user credentials.

Hi Amit,
Please first check below process,
Connect SQL Server Management Studio using Windows Authentication.
Right click on Server Name in Object Explorer
Click on Properties and go to security.
you must have to select SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode.
After this expand Security-> Logins
There are all users available. Right click on "sa" user and select properties.
There is option to set password.
After setting password you are able to connect your SQL using "sa" user.
For disable Windows Authentication same above process
Security-> Logins
there are your windows user right click on that and select properties.
Select Status from left Pane and Disable Login.

Hi Amit,
Please follow the following steps to disable Windows Authentication for database.
You can disable the Windows Authenticated User by : Security Tab --> logins --> Right click on that login -> Properties -> status ->Enable/Disable -> click Disable
or ALTER LOGIN [Domain\username] DISABLE.
