Software Design Engineer - C#, .NET - 124233 - Redmond, Washington

Question

A Platforms Team in Redmond, Washington is looking for a Software Design Engineer who is experienced with C#, .NET and Compact Frameworks, Mobile Device Applications and Component Integration. This team focuses on writing premium for-pay business, productivity and entertainment applications for a Windows Mobile platform that leverages on a Map Point technologies and services team. The team is working on a location based point of interest routing application for mobile SmartPhone and PocketPC devices.

Daily Duties:

• You will be working closely with 6 to 7 other Developers to integrate and tie all the UI application components, rendering engine and abstract and expose the underlying controller mechanisms to the UI Developers.

• You will be making inter-op calls, P-invoke – (relatively trivial)

• Working on the framework responsible for startup and shutdown of the application and services.
  
  Requirements: 
  
  

  • Strong communication skills required.

  • C#

  • Threading (experience writing thread safe code)

  • Thread pools (experience using the .NET Framework’s thread pooling API)

  • Previous Compact Framework (CF) development or Windows CE (Mobile/Handheld devices) experience.

  • An understanding of common design patterns.

  • Previous experience using the CLR Profiler is a plus.
