Strange error in Windows

Hi,

I have a strange thing at my new Laptop.

I have a harddisk that is capable to store 985 GByte! So it's a huge harddrive.

I have allocated including Windows and installed programs 120 GByte.

Space left should be 985 Gbyte - 128 Gbyte = 857 GByte as I understand.

But If I click on C: and go to Window Properties I have only 4.57 GByte left???
I have cleaned all temporary files - removed all data and nothing helps.

What can it be?

Option 1

There might be hidden files or folders consuming disk space. Check for hidden items using the following steps:
- Open File Explorer
- Navigate to the C: drive
- Click on "View" in the top menu
- Check the box next to "Hidden items"
Another option is
Run the System File Checker (SFC) and DISM tools to identify and fix any corrupted system files:
- Run the command: dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
- Run the command: sfc /scannow
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator

I am sure you must have found the soution by now. the only other things I can think of is the system restore point blocking major storage.

Try Running the TreeSizeFree as admin on your laptop. that will provide your full details which folder useing how much space.

I have done that now and it is only 4.57 GByte free.

Right Click on MyComputer --->Manage---> Disk Management ---> Right click on the drive of interest and check do you have any option shrink/extend or is it really 4 Gb ?
