Where do you see the industry going in the future?

Something that many developers might not be thinking of is WebAssembly. It is a portable binary-code format that compilers of many computer languages can generate for execution in a browser. It can be used in browsers instead of JavaScript. It is also being used to allow use of many languages in the browser that cannot be used in a browser otherwise. It was initially developed to allow use of C and C++ in a browser but there are compilers of many other languages that can generate WebAssembly. Microsoft currently uses WebAssembly in ASP.NET Core Blazor WebAssembly applications to allow use of C# in browsers.

Further in the future, I think it is inevitable that someone will develop an alternative to HTTP (and HTML). The protocol was not designed to support complicated applications such as what many web applicaitonns are. Initially HTML did not even have a scripting capability. When something more approriate is developed, most everything that currently exists will quickly become obsolete.

I would list the next big things as:

1. Cloud development
2. AI and ML
3. IOT and Automation

As Mahesh Chand said.... yes it's a big question. :)  My understanding is about the Industry focusing are 

1. Cloud Migration because it's just started, most of the premises plan to move their infra to the cloud with a strategic solution.

2. AI & ML. It's not to reduce headcount, but to get more ROI. eg., Ad industry

3. Robotics on Farms, Day to Day journeys eg., Autonomous Vehicle and Fraud detection in airports and etc.,

4. Automation

5. Technology to grass root people in a cheaper plan. Eg., Dail with the internet is too costly only rich people can afford it, and now the internet became essential in our life. Enabling automation in Farm and lot more :)

This is a very big questions. IT industry is evolving all the time and there are so many new technologies evolve over time. When you say, "future", this could be short term and long term. In short term, the biggest migration in IT is cloud. Everyone is moving their infra, data, and apps to cloud. SaaS apps are also getting adapted everywhere. Today, you don't need to install anything on your computer. You just need a device to connect and do your work remotely anywhere from the world.

While cloud is the backbone of the IT, automation for sure will continue to grow. However, there are more emerging technologies around IoTs and intelligent cloud are growing. Take an example of AI and ML. That with cloud and automation is used everywhere.

Better web and mobile technologies will evolve. 

Decentralization and Web3 is a new cool kid in town and that is a different approach than centralized/cloud. Web3 is going to play a major role in coming time, due to many issues we have today such as ownership, control and monetization of personal data, centralized services, and regulations.
