which field should we have to concentrate ?

As a .net developer we should have to concentrate on all .net technologies like Web/window/mobile pl etc or be concentrate on one field ? what do you think?

It certainly helps if you know a little about the other technologies which you don't specialize in as it gives you something to build on if you need to 'change horses' at a later date.

Otherwise, if you can't get a job in your speciality, I guess you have two choices:

1. Try and work for yourself.

2. If you can afford it, wait until a suitable job does come along and use the spare time to learn about other technologies for which the job market is more buoyant.

Hi

I completely agree with you. Everybody want to be expert in one specific technology. But so many time, after changing the job we donot get chance to work on our favorite technology. On that time, what should we have to do ?

I think we should have to love all .net technology. what do you think ?

In my view, you have to specialize - it's simply not possible to keep up with developments in all .NET technologies.

Although I've always been a desktop developer, my current view is that the market for desktop development is stagnant and is likely to decline in coming years.

In contrast, web development is still vibrant and is likely to remain so for the forseeable future.

However, if I were starting from scratch, I think I'd specialize in mobile development which clearly has significant scope for growth and where the costs of entry are relatively low if you want to work for yourself or within a small team.
