Which filter you implemented in your project in mvc?

Hi frnds I know about the filters and type. I went for the interview ..interviewer asked To ME which type filters used. I answered used action filter using 2methods onactionexecuting and onactionexwcuted. So he is not satisfied with my ans. Please give the proper explain filters with example

Hi Anjali,

I will explain one of my trace scenario which i did using custom filter.

I worked one form Employee form which is collect all employee details with photo which is mandatory.
Here I maintained two tables one for Employee details and another for storing photo of employee. It had employee code which got from employee details.

So first inset details get autoid of first table and used as foreign key for second table employee photo. Problem was arraised was employee photo not loaded.

I checked my empoyee photo table not there. I try to trace my method execution and log.

Here I used custom action filter to done that.

I override OnActionExcuting, OnActionExcuted,OnResultExcuting, OnResultExcuted and log method excution.

ASP.NET MVC framework supports four different types of filters:
Authorization filters – Implements the IAuthorizationFilter attribute.
Action filters – Implements the IActionFilter attribute.
Result filters – Implements the IResultFilter attribute.
Exception filters – Implements the IExceptionFilter attribute.

Hi, Filters are used to add pre or post processing logic in controller level or action level. Filters are 1. Authentication filter 2. Authorization filter 3. Action filter 4. Result filter 5.
