Creating an ActiveX control

I am new to VB and am assigned to a project that requires me creating my own ActiveX controls. Alot of the literature I have pertains to VB6 but we have VB.NET at work. I am having alot of trouble finding examples/literature on creating these controls in a .NET environment and was hoping for some advice...
