Which type of shoes should be preferred in IT interviews? A very specific formal & black shoes or any formal type shoes can be used?

In IT industry skills and knowledge is vital. But also appearance and presentation matters. Black or brown or Tan formal shoes. If you are appearing for cunsulting or management interview or further HR interview. Majorly service based IT companies go for formal attire.

Hi, In IT industry knowledge always matters,but first impressions the best impression so you should be careful about your attire. Big companies don't bother about dress code,but in small companies dress code also matters.

Hi Anil, there is no dress code for attending the interview, you should look decent as amit told you. according to me in IT industry, your knowledge matters . if you have a sound knowledge then nobody will reject you.

Thanks for reply. Someone told me that Pink shirts should not wear as this color shows lack in confidence. Also black color decent/ formal shoes are most preferred. Yesterday one of my student ask this also. I suggest him to wear neat-n-clean and decent dress. But I think, myself need to have more idea about this.
