Is learning programming a good choice?

Question

I like programming and I intend to work in It industry, especially in software deloping. But I heard a lot of opinions from people around me who already work in this job. They said, become programmer is very difficult, you can spend your life in front of a computer and difficult to manage time between work and personal life, etc. Can you please give me an advice or understanding about this career? so I can understand more about this career and I and could solidify my choice. Hello Nelson, You made a mistake >> You asked about programming to people who DO-NOT-LIKE programming or cannot understand the FUN of programming. In my view, even after 13 years, I like programming, i used to spend 10-12 hour per day on programming - could be writing code, reading, article authoring etc. For me >> time spend is >> fun earned.. I enjoy the moments. So as you like programming, you can enjoy the hours & achieve more than others.. I am copying words of Mahesh Chand, not all have the Programmer-Material, so do not waste it. Regarding personal life, i believe i have enough time every day in watching movies, outing, shopping etc. as there is 24 hours per day. But i would say there are 10% programmer jobs where company kills them through hectic working hours of 12-14 hours per day, they set hectic targets so people cannot enjoy the job. But there is a solution as you can change the company. After all, you have to select a job which you have passion for! Last but not the least, when you are asking questions ask to the people who are winners in the stream.. i am not saying i am big winner :) For example, if we ask about stock market to a restaurant guy, he will say it is risky & people will loose money.. But if we ask Warren Buffet he will say it is a great arena, we can make lot of money & fun being with. So always ask the Winners in particular arena, not losers! (everybody have their own views)

Being a programmer is not a difficult task if u involve yourself in it with full dedications , difficulty arises from mind , when you made a desire and goal to achieve anything , nothing is difficult for u . So , my friend , don't be afraid to take a step , just move forward with full confidence .
